Meta −6.6%, SAP the Only Paid Print; QQQ Nears Sept Low

Earnings Fallout — Meta flips to −6.6%, SAP +3.8% is the night's only payment; chip ETFs down 5%

The after-hours board did not survive daylight: Meta's 2.2% gain reversed into a 6.6% drop below its punishment line, while SAP trades above its reward line as the only paid print. Lam Research −10%, Micron −5.1%, SOXX −5.6% — and the S&P 500 fails yesterday's 50-day reclaim with the Nasdaq-100 within 0.7% of its September low.

The Midday 10 Thu, Oct 22, 2026 ~60 seconds 12:30 ET

The split tape from this morning hardened by midday: semis and the AI spenders lead the selling while Staples, Health Care and Utilities hold green. The night's earnings grades are being rewritten in daylight — the one after-hours winner is now the day's heaviest megacap loser, and the quiet European print is the only one getting paid.

The ten lines

  1. 1

DOWN Meta — the overnight payment reverses

    META

Meta trades 6.6% lower at 651.47 by midday — a full reversal of last night's 2.2% after-hours gain on record revenue. The stock now sits below its punishment line (676.59, −3% from Wednesday's close): the market slept on the $145 billion AI budget and repriced it by morning. The morning read called Meta the week's most important tell — the tell just turned.

  2. 2

UP SAP — the only print getting paid

    SAP

SAP gains 3.8% to 241.57, trading above its reward line (239.60, +3% from Wednesday's close) — the only one of last night's five reporters on course for a paid grade. The European software print that drew the least attention is outperforming every headline name on the board.

  4. 3

DOWN Lam Research — the equipment rout deepens

    LRCX

Lam Research extends the after-hours loss to −10% at 234.85, deep below its punishment line near 253. The equipment complex trades with it: Advanced Energy Industries, a semicap power supplier, is down 10.9% at 220.46 — the selling is sector-wide, not name-specific.
