Best session in months — and every big print that followed it got sold
Tuesday was the strongest session in months — QQQ up 3.40% to 723.85, semis up 6.80%, Palantir closing 29% higher — and then the two biggest prints of the night beat on every line and got sold anyway. AMD gave back its entire 7% run in the after-market; SpaceX, in its first quarter as a public company, beat revenue by 15% and fell 7% on a capex line of $18.4bn. Asia followed the session and not the prints, with Korea up 4.15% and Japan up 3.40%. Both halves are true, and the thing that sorts them is not whether a company beat.
Tuesday delivered the strongest session in months — the Nasdaq-100 up 3.40%, semiconductors up 6.80% — and it left four setups looking the same way: QQQ back above its correction channel with the secular trend intact, semis through a consolidation that had run since June, the Magnificent Seven pressed against the 71 line after a year of going nowhere, and cloud software at its highest since 2022.
