Verdict: the break never came — the bid did. Last Sunday's signal sat both hedges on their decision lines: a break of 370 on GLD was to open the road to 320, and 60,000 was bitcoin's floor to hold. Neither line broke. The first negative payroll print of the cycle (−23k) killed the hike premium instead, medium-term bonds reclaimed their two-year line, and the hedges got paid the way a no-hike world pays them: gold +7.2% to 398.47, silver +9.8%, and the gold miners +21.3% — the strongest single line on the whole cross-asset board.
Score it honestly: the risk branch we mapped did not fire, and the mechanism that replaced it — rate relief, not haven demand — is visible in what else rallied. Everything rate-sensitive on the board went up together. The hedges did not hedge; they participated.
