Closelook Records · Manager
Carl Icahn — Icahn Capital
A sworn SEC filing, but a lagged quarterly window: long US-listed equities only, up to 45 days old on arrival, no return series derivable from the filing itself. The listed vehicle (IEP) adds an exchange-verified price series — but of the holding company's units, not of the book.

The Closelook battery insufficient data
No verifiable daily series is publicly available for this record yet, so we compute no battery and no rating — a missing series never becomes a low score. What would unlock it is described in the grade basis above and in the methodology.
The 13F-HR book as of 2026-06-30

Fast lane — 5% stakes (Schedule 13D/G)
Filed with the SEC within days of crossing 5% of a company's shares (13D amendments within two business days) — far faster than the quarterly 13F. 13D signals possible activist intent, 13G a passive stake. Last 365 days, 17 filings, newest first.

The Closelook read
The original activist's filing is mostly a mirror: 54% of the $8.3B book is Icahn Enterprises itself, another 29% the CVR energy complex he controls — the campaigns live in the remaining slice.
This 13F reads differently from every other filer page in this catalogue: it is not an allocation book but an ownership structure. Icahn Enterprises LP (54%) and the CVR complex (29.3% across CVR Energy and CVR Partners) are permanent, controlled holdings — the filing's information lives at the edges, where campaign positions enter and leave. In Q2 2026 nothing entered and nothing left: the only movement was more IEP units (+12.6%, consistent with unit distributions taken in kind), a 38.6% cut to JetBlue and a 63.9% cut to American Electric Power. A static quarter from a filer whose record was built on noisy ones. The deeper verification question sits one level down: IEP's units are exchange-priced daily, so the market's live judgement of the whole structure is public — but the operating record inside (the activist returns themselves) reaches the public only through IEP's reported indicative NAV, a company-published figure. That is why a name this famous carries the same B+ as any other 13F-only record here: the grade measures what an outsider can verify, not the fame of the filer.
