Elliott Investment Management — Paul Singer

B SEC EDGAR (13F-HR) ↗ Elliott founded 1977 by Paul Singer; this 13F series under Elliott Investment Management L.P.

A sworn SEC filing, but a doubly partial window: long US-listed equities only, up to 45 days old — and for a global multi-strategy manager the visible slice is a small fraction of the book. The $8.3B puts overlay in the same filing says hedges exist; against what, the form does not show.

Asset focusUS-listed slice of a global multi-strategy book — 17 issuers led by Triple Flag Precious Metals (27.9%) and Phillips 66 (22.8%), with a large puts overlay
StyleThe most feared activist desk in the market: campaigns across equities, credit and sovereigns, run globally — of which a 13F shows only the US-listed long slice
StandingAn Elliott stake disclosure routinely moves the target's share price the same day; the 13F is scanned for campaigns not yet public

The Closelook battery insufficient data

No verifiable daily series is publicly available for this record yet, so we compute no battery and no rating — a missing series never becomes a low score. What would unlock it is described in the grade basis above and in the methodology.

$14.3B across 17 issuers, reported for quarter end 2026-06-30 and filed 2026-08-14 — the figures below are already up to a quarter old by construction. 13F-HR covers long US-listed equity positions only, as of quarter end, filed up to 45 days later. Not the whole book.

Fast lane — 5% stakes (Schedule 13D/G)

Filed with the SEC within days of crossing 5% of a company's shares (13D amendments within two business days) — far faster than the quarterly 13F. 13D signals possible activist intent, 13G a passive stake. Last 365 days, 12 filings, newest first.

The Closelook read

The visible slice of the market's most-watched activist: $14.3B across 17 US names — a gold streamer on top at 27.9%, the Phillips 66 campaign at 22.8% — hedged by an $8.3B puts overlay.

Elliott's filing is the catalogue's clearest lesson in what a 13F is not. The form shows $14.3B of US-listed longs — but Elliott runs a global multi-strategy book spanning credit, non-US equities, swaps and shorts, none of which appears here. What does appear is unusually informative at the margins: the same filing carries an $8.3B puts overlay against $0.07B in calls, which says the visible longs are heavily hedged — though against exactly what, the form does not disclose. The Q2 2026 rotation reads like a campaign ledger: Synopsys entered, Crown Castle left after the campaign there, Suncor was cut 44.1% and Southwest trimmed 19.9% as those activist positions matured, while Hewlett Packard Enterprise — the push that shaped the Juniper deal terms — grew 17.7%. The top of the book is its own story: a precious-metals streamer at 27.9% of the visible slice, ahead of the Phillips 66 refining campaign at 22.8%. The grade is B rather than B+ for a structural reason, not a reputational one: the sworn filing is as reliable as any other, but it represents a smaller, more hedged fraction of the actual record than for a US-equity-centric filer — the less a filing shows of the book, the less a record can be verified from it.
