DOWN Oil — Brent down 6.5% on US–Iran talks
USOBNOXLEXOM
Oil does most of the work today. Brent crude futures fall 6.5% to $106.01 a barrel from Friday's $113.43, and the oil funds USO and BNO lose 5.7% and 5.8%. CNBC ties the drop to diplomacy: Secretary of State Marco Rubio said over the weekend that President Trump has not decided on military action against Iran, and Iran's foreign minister said a deal is possible if Washington shows goodwill. Trump had said he would not attack before the midterms, so the market had been pricing the risk of an escalation after them, according to CNBC. Energy is the weakest sector, down 2.1% (XLE), with Exxon Mobil down 2.7%, ConocoPhillips 3.0% and Occidental 3.5%.

The 10-year Treasury yield is about 4.91%, from 4.93% on Friday, and TLT holds 81.75, above 81.50.
