Brazil ETF −20%, Chips +3.5%, Tesla Flips Its Verdict

Brazil — EWZ −20% on Lula while the chips bounce 3.5% and Tesla rallies out of its sold zone

The Brazil unwind arrived onshore with full force: the country ETF EWZ is down 20.2%, Nubank 17.6%, Santander Brasil 12.2%. The rest of the tape ignores it — semiconductors lead a broad rally (SOXX +3.5%, SMH +3.1%), the Nasdaq 100 is up 1.3%, the VIX is down 5.5% to 18.4, and momentum is finally outrunning low volatility again. On the last afternoon of their three-session windows, Tesla's 5.8% rally lifts it from 3.7% below its pre-report close to 1.9% above — flipping tonight's verdict from sold to flat — while Meta sinks deeper and SAP sits one percent below the line that would mark its report as paid. The neoclouds reversed Musk's overnight hit: CoreWeave +3.5%, IREN +4.5%. Bitcoin reclaimed 80,000; gold futures hold 4,033.

The ten lines

  1. 1

    UP Tesla

    TSLA

Tesla rallies 5.8% to 393.80 — and rewrites tonight's scorecard in the final session. We grade last Wednesday's reports at today's close, three sessions out, with ±3% from the pre-report close as the band: Tesla entered the afternoon 3.7% below its 386.47 entry, deep enough to be marked sold, and now trades 1.9% above it — a flat verdict, rescued in the last hours of the window.

  2. 2

    UP Semiconductors

    SOXX

The chip complex leads everything: SOXX +3.5%, SMH +3.1%, with optics name Applied Optoelectronics +8.8% and Bloom Energy +7.2% on the energy-tech side. Lam Research, graded tonight, gains 3.8% to 238.76 — still 8.5% below its pre-report close, so the bounce softens the verdict without changing it.

  4. 3

UP Neoclouds — Musk's hit reversed

    CRWV

The neoclouds reversed the overnight selling that followed Musk's die-off post: CoreWeave +3.5% to 56.15, IREN +4.5%, Nebius +0.6%. One session does not settle a credit question, but the market's first full-day answer to 'guppy-level death' was to buy the sector back.
