Sector Rotation — who is leading the S&P 500

The eleven S&P 500 sectors, each rebased to 100 at the start, racing on cumulative performance. Watch leadership concentrate in technology — then watch it broaden as energy, industrials and materials close the gap and the early leaders cool. The clearest single picture of money rotating across the market: when the bars reorder, the next leg is changing hands.

How to read this

Each bar is a sector's cumulative performance, rebased so every sector starts at 100 — the higher the bar, the more it has returned since the start. Bars re-sort every month; the leader paints brand red. The rest carry a family colour: indigo for tech & communications, amber for cyclicals (consumer, financials, industrials, materials, energy), teal for defensives (staples, utilities, health care, real estate). When amber and teal bars climb past the indigo ones, leadership is rotating out of growth.
