Expansion Revenue
Revenue growth from existing customers via upsell, cross-sell, and increased usage; the engine behind net revenue retention above 100%.
Expansion Revenue is the additional revenue earned from existing customers through upsell, cross-sell, and increased usage. It is the engine behind net revenue retention above 100%, where a company grows even with zero new customers because existing accounts spend more each year. Strong expansion is the hallmark of products with usage-based or seat-expanding economics. See NRR and SaaSpocalypse 101.
